Culture: Probably the thing that Burkina Faso is most famous for is its music and drumming culture. What a great country to visit if you are interested in learning West African drumming!
As with music, art is also part of the culture of Burkina Faso.

   

Cultural activities such as the Pan – African Film Festival of Ouagadougou, the International Fair of Handicrafts at Ouagadougou, the National Cultural Week at Bobo and International Festivals of Drama, attract tourists from all over the world. The week-long festival is the largest African film festival more than 40,000 people are expected to attend. It will be held in the main stadium in the capital city, Ouagadougou

   
 
 
The country hosts the International Arts and Crafts Fair, Ouagadougou, better known by its French name as SIAO, Le Salon International de L'Artisanat de Ouagadougou, one of the most important African handicraft fairs in the world.

The Embassy takes great pleasure in announcing the arrival of H.E. Mr. Idriss Raoua OUEDRAOGO Ambassador-Designate of Burkina Faso to India. H. E. Mr. OUEDRAOGO arrived in New Delhi on December 2, 2011 and has assumed charge of the Mission.

The entire staff of the Embassy wishes him a very warm welcome and success in his mission.

On Thursday, January 12, 2012 H.E. Mr. Idriss Raoua OUEDRAOGO presented his credentials to H.E. Mrs. Pratibha Patil, the Honourable President of the Republic of India, as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Burkina Faso to India.
